Low-Carbon Vehicles Cluster
A Low Carbon Vehicles Cluster is to be established in Wales to link innovative automotive companies with academic expertise to develop next generation products for the rapidly expanding green automotive sector.
The collaborative move brings together vehicle manufacturers, component suppliers and universities to invest in R&D, develop new IP and commercialise new products to drive forward the low carbon economy in the automotive sector.
The Cluster has the support of industry and will be led by the Welsh Automotive Forum with £30,000 backing from the Assembly Government through the Enterprise Networks fund.
The Cluster will work closely with recognised bodies like the Low Carbon Research Institute at Cardiff University, and other key centres in the UK to develop Intellectual Property and create commercial benefits for Wales.
The activities and capabilities of the Cluster will be marketed internationally to promote new business opportunities and create a strong proposition to attract new like-minded companies to Wales.
