IT in Wales is amongst the nations’ great success stories

A thriving cluster of over 400 businesses from globally renowned blue chip companies such as EDS, IBM, SAIC and Logica through to innovative indigenous companies like Gamma Projects, Target and Comtec.  Between them they develop, test, research and support industries across a wide range of sectors and provide employment to over 33,000 IT professionals.

Within the last year, new investors like Valtech, Sword IT and Object Matrix have all established significant development centres in the region while existing investors such as Fujitsu Services and EADS have expanded their operations.

Other developments include BT investing nearly £500 million in its exciting new 21st Century Network developments in Wales, the first investment of its kind anywhere in the world.

Also, Wales is becoming home to one of Europe’s most advanced data centre environments, following a £90 million investment from BT, with further private sector investment project of £200 million announced by Next Generation Data.

One thing is certain: Wales has established itself as a location of choice for the  IT industry.
